Jewelry Workshop with Kathleen DiResta

Thursday, April 28   7-9pm
$55 includes all materials

In this workshop with Kathleen DiResta, you will make your own beaded necklace with a pendant.  You'll learn how to texture a brass or copper disc and be able to personalize it with an initial or your own design.  (Sterling silver discs are available for an additional $10.) You will then string faceted crystal beads onto memory wire, elastic, or fishing line (your choice) with your pendant to make a fabulous necklace! Materials and resource list will be provided.

A little bit about Katheleen DiResta, jewerly designer extraordinaire...
While finishing her BFA in sculpture and art history at SUNY New Paltz, Kathleen took her first job as a jeweler in the summer of 1991, and has been creating unique designs ever since. Her line of playful, geometric jewelry has been featured in books and magazines, selling nationally at galleries and high end craft shows. CREATE YOUR OWN INNER CHILD DOLL with artist Beth Costello

 May 11th,18th, 25th, June 1st, and 8th 

Wednesdays 7pm-9pm

Let artist Beth Costello help you honor your inner child by creating a hand-sewn canvas doll from start to finish.  You will begin by drawing a sketch of your own “inner child” and then taking it and printing it on canvas.  From there you will sew and stuff your doll and let it shine by finishing it off with color and embellishments to make it completely “you”.    
5 sessions $150 includes all materials (8 spaces)

Spring Art Classes at Red Bow for ages 2-10


DRAWING/PAINTING
In this class we have FUN while learning the basics of drawing and painting with all sorts of media.  Projects are based around the fundamentals of art, such as line, value, form, and perspective, but the student will have such a great time creating they will have no idea that they are actually learning! 
Open to all levels of artists.
Mondays 4-5:30pm for 2nd-4th graders (6 classes for $180 includes all materials)
Wednesdays 3-4pm for 3-5th graders (8 classes $200 includes all materials)


SKETCHBOOKING (ART JOURNALING)
In this class students will work in a sketchbook to learn how to record their everyday life.  We will focus on "seeing" ideas from their environment an recording them in their own " visual journal".  We will talk about how we can turn these ideas into a final product, but the main focus will be on collecting raw ideas.
Wednesdays 4:15-5:15pm for 1st-5th graders (8 classes $210 includes all materials)

FIDDLING FINGERS
Let your child explore the world of art and all the tools that go along with it.  In this class we focus on learning about scissors, glue, paints, pens, pencils, and many other useful things and the proper way to use them.  The class revolves around fun and creating.
Mondays 9:15am-10am for ages 2-4

KRAFTY K's
This class is designed specifically for all those fabulous kindergarteners who have had a long day at school and just want to KREATE with a capital K.  In this class the students learn about the many different materials that are used for painting, drawing collaging, and
almost anything else they can imagine.  

Mondays

NESTING DOLLS with artist Fran Traina

April 9th, 1pm-4pm
Illustrator Fran Traina will guide you through the process of developing an idea and executing it using acrylics paints on your own set of nesting dolls.  She will teach you the basics of acrylic paints and how to use them.
$40 includes all materials (6 spaces)
