Adult Art Classes Fall 2013

Many adults have be inquiring about art classes, so I've decided to offer three basic classes.  All of them will be fun and untraditionally taught, but at the finish of each one you will have a greater grasp on the subject and techniques.  All classes will be taught in my dining room/art studio except for the outdoor art sketchbooking course.  All materials are included in the price, but you are more than welcome to bring your own supplies.  Please email me to sign up for a class or with any questions!! -Patricia  (If you can only attend in the evenings and are interested in a class, email me and if there is enough interest I will set up a night class.)

Drawing Basics
(6 Classes- $250) Tuesdays 10AM-12NOON Sept 17, 24, Oct 1, 8,15, & 22
In this class we will work on drawing skills through exercises and projects that will help to learn about value, perception, and shape.  We will learn how to see in order to draw and practice our hand/eye coordination.  Different media such as charcoal, pencil, and pens will be used to learn more about how each one is useful in its own way.  By the end of the six weeks you will be much more adept in drawing exactly what you see.  This class is for the beginner and intermediate artist.  Materials are included in price, but each artist is welcome to bring their own supplies. (Limited to 6 students)

Outdoor Art Sketchbooking
(6 Classes- $250) Thursdays 10AM-12NOON Sept 19, 26, Oct 3, 10,17, & 24
Have you ever wanted to create art outdoors?  Here's your chance.  In this workshop, we will travel to locations around and near Sea Cliff to draw and paint landscapes and nature subjects.  The first class will be held in the classroom learning about and using the different media that is better or worse for on the go.  The remaining classes will be at places such as Sea Cliff Beach, the Roslyn Pond, and other beautiful and inspiring places.  This is a very informal class and we will be working in sketchbooks. This class is appropriate for anyone interested in honing their drawing/painting skills no matter what level.

Watercolor Painting
(4 classes $170) Tuesdays 10AM-12NOON Oct 29, Nov 3, 10 & 17
Learning the basics with watercolors such as how to choose a palette, and the different techniques that can be used to paint with watercolors is what this class is all about.  We will work on four projects - a still life, a landscape, a portrait, and an abstract.  This class is for anyone interested in learning how to watercolor paint.  I teach to level, so if you are more experienced, you will learn more advanced techniques.
